Azukiarai/Azukitogi A spirit that washes azuki beans on a shoreline. Ayakashi A maritime phenomenon considered to be the work of funayurei. Ashinagatenaga A pair of characters, one with long legs and the other with long arms.

Akamanto A ghost in a red mantle that offers either red or blue toilet paper rolls in bathrooms, then kills whoever answers based on their choice: flaying for red, strangulation for blue. Akabeko A red cow involved in the construction of the Enzō-ji temple in Yanaizu, Fukushima. She mainly targets young women who have just come of age. 'ash crone') A blind, cannibalistic female yōkai who hails from Akita Prefecture. Abura-sumashi A large-headed spirit that lives on a mountain pass in Kumamoto Prefecture. Abura-akago An infant ghost that licks the oil out of andon lamps. A Abumi-guchi A small furry creature formed from the stirrup of a mounted military commander who worked for Yamata no Orochi.
